Keiro Kitagami

Profile

Keiro Kitagami is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. After graduating from the University of Tokyo and working for the Ministry of Finance, he entered politics and has been elected to the Diet six times. Throughout his career, he has held positions such as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister. Known for his conservative political views, Kitagami supports the revision of Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution and the exercise of the right to collective self-defense. He has previously served as an independent and a member of various opposition parties before joining the Liberal Democratic Party in 2026.
