Kelvin Davis

Kelvin Davis is a New Zealand politician who served as a Member of Parliament for Te Tai Tokerau and as the deputy leader of the Labour Party from 2017 to 2023. A former educator and school principal, he was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2008. During the Sixth Labour Government, he held several ministerial portfolios, including Minister of Corrections, Minister for Children, and the inaugural Minister for Māori–Crown Relations. Davis retired from politics in February 2024 following his defeat in the 2023 general election.
