Prior to his legislative career, Ferguson worked for the city of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and served as the executive director of the Arkansas Workforce Board and investment director of the Arkansas Workforce Development Board. In 2021, he was recognized for his legislative service with the Distinguished Legislative Award from the Arkansas Municipal League.
