Tyrone Carter is an American politician and former law enforcement officer serving as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives. First elected in 2018 to represent the 6th district, he successfully transitioned to the 1st district following the 2020 redistricting cycle and has been reelected multiple times, most recently in 2024. Prior to his legislative career, Carter spent 25 years with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, where he achieved the rank of Executive Lieutenant before retiring in 2008. He is an active member of the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus and continues to serve his constituents in the state legislature.
