She assumed office in May 2025 following her victory in a special election held on April 29, 2025, which was triggered by the resignation of Senator Justin Eichorn. A member of the Republican Party, she resides in Nisswa, Minnesota, with her husband, Josh Heintzeman, who serves as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Together, they have six children.
