Khaltmaagiin Battulga

Khaltmaagiin Battulga is a Mongolian politician, businessman, and former sambo wrestler who served as the President of Mongolia from 2017 to 2021. Before his presidency, he held several ministerial positions, including Minister of Roads and Transport and Minister of Industry and Agriculture. A prominent member of the Democratic Party, he was elected to the State Great Khural in 2004, 2008, 2012, and again in 2024. Known for his nationalist political stance and advocacy for industrialization, he has also been a significant figure in Mongolian sports, particularly as the president of the Mongolian Judo Association. His career reflects a transition from international athletic success to a central role in Mongolian governance and economic policy.
