Kim Byeong-sam is a South Korean politician and former career civil servant currently serving as the 23rd Mayor of Yeongcheon. Born in 1968, he began his public service career in 1996 after passing the 2nd Local Administrative Examination. Throughout his career, he held various high-level positions within the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government, including serving as the Deputy Mayor of Pohang and the head of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority. He entered politics by joining the People Power Party and was elected as the Mayor of Yeongcheon in the 9th nationwide local elections in 2026.
