Jong-yang Kim is a South Korean politician and former high-ranking police official currently serving as a member of the 22nd National Assembly representing Changwon Uichang-gu. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career in law enforcement, serving as the Commissioner of the Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency and the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency. He gained international recognition for his tenure as the President of Interpol from 2018 to 2021, having previously served as its Vice President for Asia. A member of the conservative People Power Party, Kim has held various leadership roles within the party, including floor spokesperson and member of multiple parliamentary committees focused on public administration and land and transport.
