Kimberly Lightford

Kimberly Lightford is an American politician serving as a member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 4th district since 1998. She currently serves as the Senate Majority Leader and holds leadership roles in several committees, including the Assignments Committee and the Redistricting Committee. A graduate of Western Illinois University and the University of Illinois Springfield, Lightford previously worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections and served as a Maywood Village Trustee. Throughout her tenure, she has been a prominent advocate for education policy and has served as the chair of the Senate Black Caucus.
