Haruo Kitamura is a Japanese attorney and politician currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors, representing the Conservative Party of Japan. Before entering national politics, he gained widespread public recognition as a long-standing regular on the popular television program 'Legal Consultation Office' (Gyoretsu no Dekiru Horitsusodanjo). A graduate of Waseda University's Faculty of Law, Kitamura has practiced law since 1989, specializing in civil litigation, including traffic accidents and medical malpractice. He is known for his conservative political views, advocating for legal reforms regarding the Japan Federation of Bar Associations and emphasizing the importance of national security legislation.
