Klaus Lederer is a German politician and a member of the Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin. Born in Schwerin, he studied law at the Humboldt University of Berlin and earned a doctorate in 2004. A long-time member of the PDS and later Die Linke, he served as the Berlin State Chairman of his party and held the positions of Mayor of Berlin and Senator for Culture and Europe from 2016 to 2023. In October 2024, he left Die Linke following internal disputes regarding antisemitism but continues to serve as an independent member of the Left faction in the Berlin House of Representatives. He is known for his advocacy for queer and drug policy reform.
