Takayuki Kobayashi is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. A graduate of the University of Tokyo and Harvard Kennedy School, he began his career at the Ministry of Finance before entering politics. He has held several high-profile positions, including Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy and Economic Security, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party's Policy Research Council. He has been elected to the House of Representatives six times representing the Chiba 2nd district.
