Kostas Karamanlis

Profile

Kostas Karamanlis is a Greek politician and a member of the New Democracy party. Born into a prominent political family, he was first elected to the Hellenic Parliament in 2015 representing the Serres constituency. He served as the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport from 2019 until his resignation in March 2023 following the Tempi train crash. Despite the controversy surrounding the disaster, he was re-elected to Parliament in May 2023. Before entering politics, he worked in investment banking and the shipping industry.
