Konosuke Kokuba is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Okinawa 1st district. Born in Naha, Okinawa, he comes from a prominent local business family associated with the construction firm Kokuba-gumi. After serving two terms in the Okinawa Prefectural Assembly, he was first elected to the national Diet in 2012. Throughout his career, he has held various government and party positions, including State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs. Politically, he is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and has advocated for constitutional reform and national security strengthening, while navigating complex local issues such as the relocation of the Futenma Air Base.
