Since July 2023, she has served as the Senator for Economics, Ports and Transformation in the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. Previously, she was a member of the Bremische Bürgerschaft from 2011 to 2019 and served as the Senator for Economics, Labour and Europe from 2019 to 2023. Before entering politics, she worked as a legal assistant and managed a restaurant in the Walle district of Bremen.
