Kurt Kleinschmidt is a German politician and former military officer who currently serves as a member of the Bundestag. Originally from Bavaria and currently residing in North Friesland, he has a background in the German armed forces, including deployments to Kosovo and Afghanistan. Kleinschmidt has been the state chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) in Schleswig-Holstein since 2022. He was selected as the party's top candidate for the state in the 2025 German federal election, subsequently winning a seat in the national parliament.
