Imre László is a Hungarian politician and academic who currently serves as the Mayor of Budapest's XI District. Before his political career, he was a distinguished literary historian, professor, and member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, specializing in 19th and 20th-century Hungarian and Russian literature. He previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and later as the Rector of the University of Debrecen. He is a recipient of the Széchenyi Prize for his significant contributions to literary scholarship.
