Lakshman Acharya

Lakshman Acharya is an Indian politician currently serving as the 28th Governor of Assam. A long-time member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), he previously served as the 17th Governor of Sikkim from 2023 to 2024. Before his gubernatorial appointments, he was a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, where he held the position of Deputy Leader of the House. Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved in grassroots organizing, education initiatives in rural areas, and party leadership roles within the Kashi region of Uttar Pradesh.
