Larry W. Potts is an American politician serving as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives for the 81st district, a position he has held since his election in 2016. Before entering the state legislature, he served for nearly 21 years as a Davidson County Commissioner, including nine terms as chairman. His extensive public service background also includes roles on the Davidson County Social Services board, the NC Social Services Commission, and the Davidson County Economic Development Commission. In the General Assembly, Potts has held significant leadership roles, including serving as Senior Chair of the House Health Committee and Chair of the House Appropriations Committee for Health and Human Services. In 2020, he was recognized as Legislator of the Year by the National MS Society for his legislative contributions.
