Larry R. Scott

Larry R. Scott is an American businessman, engineer, and politician currently serving as a member of the New Mexico Senate for the 42nd district, a position he has held since 2025. Prior to his election to the Senate, he served as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives representing the 62nd district from 2015 to 2024. Before entering public office, Scott worked as an engineer and served as the president of Lynx Petroleum Consultants, an oil and gas company based in Hobbs, New Mexico. A member of the Republican Party, he has been noted for his conservative economic views, including his opposition to state-mandated economic shutdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic.
