Lars Haltbrekken

Lars Haltbrekken is a Norwegian politician and environmentalist who has served as a Member of the Storting since 2017. A prominent figure in the Socialist Left Party, he was elected as the party's deputy leader in 2025. Before entering national politics, he held significant leadership roles in the environmental movement, serving as chairman of Friends of the Earth Norway from 2005 to 2016 and leading Natur og Ungdom in the mid-1990s. His career has been defined by his advocacy for environmental protection and his opposition to natural gas power plants.
