Lauri Hussar is an Estonian politician and former journalist who has served as the President of the Riigikogu since 2023. Born in Võru in 1973, he holds a master's degree in theology from the University of Tartu. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career in media, working as a reporter and host for TV3 and ERR, and serving as the editor-in-chief of the Postimees newspaper. Since joining the Estonia 200 party in 2019, he has become a prominent political figure, advocating for increased European defense spending and maintaining a critical stance toward the Russian government.
