Laurie Sweet is an American politician serving as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 91st district since 2025. Before her election to the state legislature, she served on the Hamden Legislative Council, where she focused on environmental remediation and housing ordinance reforms. An academic by training, she holds a Ph.D. in Art History and previously worked as an adjunct professor and a birth doula. In the state legislature, she serves on the Environment, Higher Education, and Housing committees and acts as Vice Chair of the bipartisan End Homelessness Caucus.
