Leila Ali Elmi

Leila Ali Elmi is a Swedish politician of Ethiopian-Somali descent who has served as a member of the Swedish Riksdag since 2018. Born in Ethiopia in 1988, she moved to Sweden at the age of three and grew up in the Hjällbo area of Gothenburg. Before entering national politics, she worked as an interpreter for nine years and held various service jobs. A member of the Green Party since 2014, Elmi has campaigned primarily on a platform focused on improving educational standards in disadvantaged neighborhoods.
