Leonard Hubert Hoffmann, Baron Hoffmann, is a senior South African–British judge and a member of the House of Lords. Born in South Africa, he studied at the University of Cape Town and Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar before embarking on a distinguished legal career in the United Kingdom. He served as a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary from 1995 to 2009 and is widely recognized for his influential judgments in contract, company, and intellectual property law. Currently, he serves as a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal of Hong Kong and holds an honorary professorship at Queen Mary, University of London.
