Lionel Beffre

Lionel Beffre is a French senior civil servant currently serving as the Minister of the Interior of Monaco, a position he assumed on August 5, 2024. Before his appointment in Monaco, he held several high-ranking prefectural roles across France, including serving as the Prefect of Isère, Seine-et-Marne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Eure-et-Loir, and Lot-et-Garonne. Additionally, he served as the High Commissioner of the Republic in French Polynesia from 2013 to 2016. An alumnus of the École nationale d'administration and the Institut d'études politiques de Paris, Beffre has built a long career in public administration and government advisory roles.
