Lionel Causse is a French politician currently serving as a member of the National Assembly for the second constituency of the Landes department, a position he has held since 2017. Originally a professional in the social and solidarity economy, he began his political career as a local official, serving as a departmental councilor and mayor of Saint-Martin-de-Seignanx. Formerly a member of the Socialist Party, he joined Emmanuel Macron's Renaissance movement in 2016. In the National Assembly, he has focused on environmental policy, sustainable development, and social issues, including the national implementation of social water pricing and climate-resilience legislation. He also serves as the president of the National Housing Council.
