Liudas Mažylis is a Lithuanian politician and professor who serves as a Member of the European Parliament representing the Homeland Union. Born in Kaunas in 1954, he built a distinguished academic career at Vytautas Magnus University and gained widespread public recognition for discovering the original Act of Independence of Lithuania of February 16 in Berlin. He initially served as an MEP from 2019 to 2024 and returned to the European Parliament in December 2024.
