Loïg Chesnais-Girard

Loïg Chesnais-Girard is a French politician currently serving as the President of the Regional Council of Brittany, a position he has held since 2017. Previously a member of the Socialist Party, he began his political career as a municipal councilor in Liffré in 1995 and served as its mayor from 2008 to 2017. A former corporate finance manager at Crédit Lyonnais, he emphasizes regional autonomy, environmental preservation, and the development of local infrastructure such as high-speed fiber optics. He identifies as a social democrat and continues to advocate for pragmatic political compromise.
