Lorig Charkoudian is an American politician serving as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 20 since 2019. Born in Boston, she holds a Ph.D. in economics from Johns Hopkins University and previously served as the executive director of Community Mediation Maryland. A member of the Democratic Party, Charkoudian is known for her legislative work on climate change, renewable energy, healthcare affordability, and labor rights. She is the first Armenian American to serve in the Maryland House of Delegates and has been a vocal advocate for environmental sustainability and social justice initiatives throughout her career.
