J. Sandy Bartlett is an American politician and attorney serving as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 32 since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, she has served as the chair of the Judiciary Committee since 2025, becoming the first African-American and first woman to hold the position. Throughout her tenure, Bartlett has focused on criminal justice reform, including the passage of the Child Interrogation Act and legislation restricting the charging of minors as adults. She is also a vocal advocate for gun safety, having introduced Jaelynn's Law, and has consistently supported civil rights and anti-discrimination policies, such as the CROWN Act.
