Lourdes Gómez Torres is a Puerto Rican politician, lawyer, and public servant serving as the Secretary of Justice of Puerto Rico. Born to a teacher and a lawyer, she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a J.D. from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Her career includes working in private legal practice, serving as director of the legal division at ASUME, acting as a family affairs attorney in the Puerto Rico Department of Justice, and serving as a judge of the Superior Courts of Puerto Rico. In May 2025, she was nominated by Governor Jenniffer González-Colón to lead the Department of Justice, where she has focused on anti-corruption efforts, victim support, and strengthening law enforcement collaborations.
