Luís Montenegro

Luís Montenegro is a Portuguese politician and lawyer currently serving as the Prime Minister of Portugal, a position he has held since April 2024. A member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), he previously served as a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic from 2002 to 2018, where he led the party's parliamentary group. Known for his center-right political stance, he has focused his premiership on economic reforms, immigration policy, and addressing the national housing crisis. Montenegro assumed leadership of the PSD in 2022 and successfully led the Democratic Alliance to a plurality in the 2024 and 2025 legislative elections.
