Lucas Lanigan

Profile

Lucas Lanigan is an American politician and businessman currently serving as a member of the Maine House of Representatives for the 141st district. First elected in 2022, he previously served on the Sanford City Council from 2016 to 2021, where he also held the position of deputy mayor. A co-owner of the Mill Towne Tavern in Sanford, Lanigan has faced significant controversy, including a 2024 arrest on a domestic violence aggravated assault charge, which led to calls for his resignation from Democratic leadership and the initiation of a legislative ethics investigation in 2025. Despite these challenges, he secured re-election in 2024 by a narrow margin.
