Luciano Rivas Stepke

Luciano Rivas Stepke is a Chilean politician and aquaculture engineer who served as the Governor of the La Araucanía Region from July 2021 to January 2025. An independent politician often associated with the political movement Evópoli, he previously worked as a development manager at Empresas Gorbea and led the Multigremial de La Araucanía. His tenure as governor was marked by his focus on regional security and economic development, though it also faced significant scrutiny due to investigations into the allocation of public funds to various foundations. After being defeated in his 2024 re-election bid by René Saffirio, he concluded his term in early 2025.
