Luigi Manzoni

Luigi Manzoni (1888–1968) was an Italian agronomist and politician who served as the Mayor of Conegliano from 1946 to 1949. A graduate of the University of Pisa, he was a distinguished researcher in viticulture and served as the director of the Oenological School of Conegliano for over two decades. He is internationally renowned for his pioneering work in grapevine hybridization, known as the 'Manzoni crosses,' which significantly contributed to the development of high-quality wine varieties.
