Luke Akehurst

Luke Akehurst is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for North Durham since 2024. A long-standing figure within the party, he previously served as a councillor in the London Borough of Hackney and has been a prominent member of the Labour Party's National Executive Committee. Known for his alignment with the party's moderate wing and his leadership of the group Labour First, Akehurst has been a vocal advocate for centrist policies and a critic of the party's hard-left factions. Beyond his parliamentary duties, he has been active in pro-Israel advocacy, notably serving as the director of the group We Believe in Israel.
