Luke Murphy

Luke Sean Murphy is a British Labour politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Basingstoke since the 2024 general election. Before entering Parliament, he worked for the Institute for Public Policy Research as head of the Fair Transition Unit and served as a policy advisor to members of the Shadow Cabinet. He holds a BSc in Politics and Economics from the University of Bath and an MSc in International Politics from SOAS University of London. In addition to his parliamentary duties, he chairs the all-party parliamentary group on climate change and serves as a parliamentary private secretary to the Department for Transport.
