Luz Rivas is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for California's 29th congressional district since 2025. Before her election to Congress, she served in the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2024, where she was a member of the Legislative Progressive Caucus. An electrical engineer by training, Rivas founded the non-profit organization DIY Girls to encourage young women to pursue careers in STEM fields. She is a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the Congressional Progressive Caucus, focusing her legislative work on issues such as housing, technology, and education.
