Maaike De Vreese is a Belgian politician and civil servant who serves as a member of the Flemish Parliament and the Belgian Senate. Born in 1984 in Bruges, she holds a degree in criminology from Ghent University. Before entering politics, she worked for the Belgian Federal Public Service Immigration Affairs, where she provided operational advice to police regarding human smuggling and illegal immigration. In 2019, she was elected to the Flemish Parliament representing West Flanders for the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA), subsequently taking political leave from her civil service career to focus on her legislative mandate.
