Before entering politics, he spent 19 years as a Royal Canadian Mounted Police constable, where he focused on mental health and crisis intervention. A member of the Conservative Party, McCall has served as the Official Opposition Critic for Solicitor General and Public Safety since July 2025. He has expressed support for civil liberties regarding public health measures.
