Maité Vargas Meraz

Maité Vargas Meraz is a Mexican politician currently serving as a member of the Chamber of Deputies for the 2nd District of Chihuahua. A member of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), she has held this seat since 2018, having been re-elected for consecutive terms in 2021 and 2024. Throughout her legislative career, she has served on various committees, including Foreign Relations and Border Affairs, and has been a prominent advocate for women's empowerment. Before entering national politics, she was active in local party leadership and worked in radio and television broadcasting.
