西田実仁

Makoto Nishida is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Councillors, currently in his fourth term. A graduate of Keio University, he worked as a journalist for Toyo Keizai Inc. before entering politics. Within the Komeito party, he has held significant leadership roles, including Secretary-General, Chairman of the Policy Research Council, and Chairman of the Election Campaign Committee. Nishida is recognized for his expertise in economic and tax policy, having played a key role in negotiating the reduced tax rate system for daily necessities and advocating for support measures for small and medium-sized enterprises. He has also been a vocal proponent of strengthening Japan's infectious disease response capabilities, including the proposal for a Japanese version of the CDC.
