Marcel Romanescu

Marcel Laurențiu Romanescu is a Romanian politician currently serving as the Mayor of Târgu Jiu, a position he has held since 2017. Born in 1975, he previously served as a member of the Romanian Parliament from 2004 to 2008. Before entering politics, he pursued an academic career as a lecturer at the Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu. Throughout his political tenure, he has been affiliated with several parties, including the Democratic Party and the National Liberal Party, before joining the Social Democratic Party in 2024.
