Marcus C. Evans Jr.

Marcus C. Evans Jr. is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 33rd district, a position he has held since his appointment in 2012. A cancer survivor and graduate of Chicago State University, he previously served as deputy chief of staff to Alderman Michelle Harris. Throughout his legislative career, Evans has focused on criminal justice reform, housing policy, and workforce development, while also serving in leadership roles within the National Conference of State Legislatures. He is a member of the Illinois House Legislative Black Caucus and chairs several key committees, including the Labor & Commerce Committee.
