Marek Hattas

Marek Hattas is a Slovak politician and activist who has served as the Mayor of Nitra since 2018. Before entering formal politics, he was a community organizer who founded the Hidepark cultural center and led cycling advocacy movements in his hometown. He gained national prominence for his involvement in anti-government protests following the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak. After serving as a Member of the National Council from 2020 to 2023, he founded the regional party Team Nitra Region and continues to focus on local governance and anti-corruption efforts in Nitra.
