Maria José Aguiar is a Portuguese politician and educator serving as a member of the Assembly of the Republic. Born in 1968 in Vale de Cambra, she holds a degree in visual education and previously worked as a schoolteacher. A member of the right-wing CHEGA party, she was first elected to the national parliament in March 2024 representing the Aveiro constituency and was re-elected in 2025. Within the legislature, she has served as the coordinator for the CHEGA parliamentary group on the Committee on Education and Science.
