Mariastella Gelmini

Mariastella Gelmini is an Italian politician currently serving as a member of the Senate of the Republic. A long-time figure in Italian politics, she previously served as the Minister of Education, University and Research from 2008 to 2011 and as the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies from 2021 to 2022. Initially a prominent member of Forza Italia, she later joined Azione before transitioning to the Noi Moderati group. Throughout her career, she has held various local and national offices, including serving as a city councilor in Milan and as a deputy in the Chamber of Deputies for multiple legislatures.
