Marija Kušmiš is a Croatian politician currently serving as the Mayor of Novska. She made history as the first woman to hold this office, having been elected in extraordinary local elections in June 2022 following the resignation of her predecessor, Marin Piletić. She secured a new mandate in May 2025 after winning over 70% of the vote in the first round. Her administration focuses on significant infrastructure development, including the expansion of the local gaming industry center, educational facilities, and urban renewal projects aimed at economic growth.
