Markku Siponen is a Finnish politician and educator serving as a Member of the Parliament of Finland since 2023. A member of the Centre Party, he also holds the position of City Council Chair in Kiuruvesi and serves on the regional council of North Savo. Before his parliamentary career, Siponen worked as a physical education and health teacher and as an agricultural entrepreneur. Politically, he has advocated for rural interests, expressed skepticism toward the privatization of over-the-counter medicine sales, and supported strengthening the role of the military in national leadership training.
